iPad on-air Controller

AccuWeather’s new on-air iPad controller for CinemaLive HD is the latest in interactive, on-air control systems and gives stations an edge, especially in the eyes of the gadget-rich, technology- savvy younger demographics.

The iPad on-air controller puts a range of show controls at the presenter’s fingertips during breaking news and weather events, enabling the presenter to respond more rapidly and credibly on the air to breaking news, severe weather, data updates and the latest field footage.

Presenters can spontaneously highlight graphics elements, pop up local storm reports, toggle radar overlays, and switch between live video feeds. They can bring region pull-outs to front-and-center positions and pan and zoom across maps as the unfolding news situation dictates.  Similar control can be gained over Sports, News and Election graphics. The ongoing coverage of fast-moving news and weather is not constrained by the outdated story line defined before going on air.

AccuWeather’s on-air iPad application also enables shows to be prepared remotely. It gives the presenter control of all story elements and visuals within the show from their home or anywhere with Wi-Fi. It can be used to update weather shows from locations, respond quickly to breaking severe weather, or update and export a graphic for social media postings.
